Publication of the essay “Between unity and fragmentation: the highly choreographed long take”, in the film journal Screen.
The essay explores the use of highly mobile, dynamic long takes in contemporary cinema, across different industries. I examine how the highly choreographed long take differs from other types of long takes and analyze its impact on the construction of space, time and narrative events within the film.
